Ingredients

Crostini Base

  • 1 baguette sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Topping

  • 6 ounces goat cheese softened
  • 1 Granny Smith apple thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup hot honey store-bought or homemade
  • Flaky sea salt for garnish
  • Fresh thyme leaves optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  • Brush lightly with olive oil and bake for 5–7 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  • Spread a layer of goat cheese on each crostini while still slightly warm.
  • Top with thin slices of Granny Smith apple.
  • Drizzle generously with hot honey.
  • Finish with flaky sea salt and fresh thyme, if using. Serve immediately.

Notes

Shortcut: use pre-toasted crostini from the store. Swap pear slices for the apple if you want it sweeter. Toddler tip: skip the hot honey and drizzle with plain honey instead. These are best served fresh, but you can prep the toasted crostini and goat cheese spread a few hours in advance. Fancy-feeling food for fried people.
