  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Cornmeal for dusting

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • Add the warm water, warm milk, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut out circles using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
  • Dust a baking sheet with cornmeal and place the circles on it. Cover them with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 15 minutes.

  • Let the muffins cool down before slicing them in half and toasting them. Serve them with butter, jam, or your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
