Chocolate Fudge

This recipe is for homemade fudge made with sugar, butter, heavy cream, vanilla extract, chocolate chips, and optional chopped nuts. It is a simple and delicious treat that can be enjoyed by all.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish and set it aside.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and heavy cream over medium heat.
  • Stir the mixture constantly until the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted completely.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chocolate chips until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • If desired, fold in the chopped nuts.
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Let the fudge cool at room temperature for about 2 hours, or until it has set completely.
  • Once the fudge has set, cut it into small squares and serve.
