- 1 can of cherry pie filling
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter melted
- 1/2 cup of chopped pecans optional
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the cherry pie filling, making sure to cover it completely.
Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover it evenly.
If desired, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top of the cake.
Bake the cherry dump cake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
