Ingredients
  

  • 1 can of cherry pie filling
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup of chopped pecans optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the cherry pie filling, making sure to cover it completely.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover it evenly.
  • If desired, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top of the cake.
  • Bake the cherry dump cake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve the cherry dump cake warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
