Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives.
  • Gradually pour in the milk, stirring until the dough comes together and is moistened.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together.
  • Pat the dough out to about 1/2 inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits.
  • Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
