Ingredients

Cocktail

  • 1 cup chilled apple cider
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup optional, to taste
  • Ice cubes

Mocktail Variation

  • 1 cup chilled apple cider
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water or ginger beer
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup optional
  • Ice cubes

Garnish

  • Apple slices
  • Cinnamon stick

Instructions

  • Fill two glasses with ice.
  • In a small pitcher, combine apple cider, lemon juice, and maple syrup if using.
  • For cocktail: stir in bourbon. For mocktail: skip bourbon and add extra sparkling water or ginger beer.
  • Divide mixture between glasses and top with sparkling water or club soda.
  • Garnish each glass with apple slices and a cinnamon stick.

Notes

The maple syrup adds a soft sweetness and depth — skip if your cider is already sweet. Ginger beer makes the mocktail extra cozy and spiced. For a crowd, scale up and serve in a pitcher. Toddler-friendly tip: pour plain sparkling cider in a small glass with an apple slice for them to feel included.
