HEY, I’M HEATHER.
Creative director and food enthusiast. Ha. Is that a thing?

Former creative director. Accidental expat. Chronic over-thinker with a soft spot for burnt butter and freezer shortcuts.
I started The Salty Epicurean as a place to share the kinds of meals I was actually making — after the baby went down, after the mental load won, and after I’d ADHD-hyperfocused on designing the perfect cheese board instead of folding laundry. I wanted food that felt indulgent but didn’t require a timeline or a perfectly lit kitchen. Something beautiful enough to make me sigh, but fast enough to make on a Tuesday.
I live in France now, but this isn’t a blog about moving to the countryside and making croissants from scratch. This is for the overstimulated, underfed romantics who crave elegance with a shortcut — apéro over hustle, pleasure over pressure.
Here you’ll find:
- Lazy-but-lovely recipes (think pantry pasta that feels like a flex)
- Taste hacks (because no one has time to reinvent vinaigrette)
- Seasonal ideas that flirt with nostalgia
- And the occasional product or playlist that just makes dinner better
Whether you’re cooking with a toddler underfoot or just trying to feed yourself something that isn’t vibes alone — you’re in the right place.
Let’s be fancy-feeling, together.
The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude.
